Vertical rotors offer the best resolution and efficiency of all rotor types for density-based separations. Their short pathlength allows you to complete your runs in a fraction of the time and forms a shallower density gradient, enabling clearer resolution. When a tube comes to rest at the end of a centrifuge run in a vertical rotor, the density gradient reorients, magnifying the separation between bands more than in other rotor types.

This enhanced resolution provides greater purity, yield, and easier sample recovery.
See what our customers had to say about using vertical rotors in their workflows:
"We got really excited about the VTi 50.1. Those four extra slots increasing the volume by approximately 160mLs per rotor, it's able to reduce the number of spins approximately by a third.
And when you combine the efficiency of the rotor versus say a swinging bucket, we're able to get your spin time down to less than 10 hours, maybe less than five hours and then you add in the high volume aspect of it. It really was the best solution for scale-up."
