Ultrafiltration for Wastewater Research
Ultrafiltration is a membrane separation technique that allows small particle detection. When using this technique, researchers filter a wastewater sample through a membrane by spinning the sample in a centrifuge. The pore size of the membrane dictates the size of the particles collected. The Avanti series of centrifuges can be used with ultrafiltration membranes available from Pall Laboratories and other membrane manufacturers to achieve virus detection.
