Where do the cells for cell-based immunotherapies come from?

Depending on the type of immunotherapy being discussed, cell-based therapies source cells differently. Cells used for allogenic immunotherapy are typically derived from human cell lines and are developed in the laboratory, but they may be provided by a living donor. Cells used for autogenic immunotherapy are harvested, typically from peripheral blood, altered, and returned to the source patient.
